Convection is a NAFAA-sponsored, three-day camping retreat for fire and flow artists of all levels to teach, learn, practice, and play. There's daily workshops in a wide variety of fire and flow tools and techniques, taught by some of the best instructors around, and plenty of play time at night.

Our location, near Victorville, is an idyllic setting for this retreat. It offers mountain spring water on tap, plenty of camping space, easy highway access--with shopping and other aspects of civilization mere minutes away, and is fully permitted for fire. It's only two hours away from Los Angeles, and three hours away from Las Vegas and San Diego..

We are a sober fire event that seeks to promote growth within the community with heavy stress on safety and flow. Proceeds from this event will help to fund the Apple Valley volunteer fire department, who will be onsite during this event.

We're still early in the planning but we have several confirmed instructors: Matthew Downey from NYC, Erich, Manny San, Isa Isaacs (Temple of Poi), Sean, and Tedward from SoCal, Brenden Hebert and Tricia Moore from AZ and Dyami from Santa Cruz. If you're interested in teaching a class, hit the workshops page and submit a class idea.

So, save the date:

Convection: June 8-10th 2012
